He fought the good fight, but in the end COVID claimed another angel. On May 9th, when he should have been celebrating Mother’s Day with his wife and children, Scott Ryan Archbold gave his last breath. Scott entered the hospital on January 29th and spent over 100 days in the hospital, with over 30 days in the ICU. We had the hope of recovery when he was released from the hospital on May 3rd, but that hope was dashed just 3 days later when worsening condition required readmittance to the ICU for what became his final days.
Scott was a fighter. He overcame and persevered. And yet, he was also the gentlest soul you ever met. With his wife, Chris, he spent the last 34 years raising their three children (Kyle, Megan, and Ian) in a home filled with love and acceptance. He was a brother, role model, and cherished friend to many. Beloved of family by blood and family by love.
Now those he loved most are left behind to pick up the pieces and continue on. COVID claimed so much from Scott and Chris. Scott was laid off at the beginning of the pandemic. Because of prior health conditions, Scott was not eligible for life insurance. Even with health insurance, the costs of 100 days in the hospital, including 30 days in the ICU are substantial.
The purpose of this fund is to provide assistance to Scott’s widow, Chris, as she picks up the pieces. To provide support for hospital/medical bills, mortgage, and final expenses.
