Scott Antony medical expenses

Thank you for the loving support for Scott and the family. Over the past two years the cancer has spread to his lungs and brain. The cancer responded to treatment.

In August of 2022 Scott went to the Mayo, in Rochester, to continue his journey, for a second opinion. The “problem child” in the brain needed to be removed. On 9/26/2022 Scott had brain surgery at Mayo in Rochester. The surgery was very positive. Scott worked diligently during his 6-week rehab to regain strength and movement. Things were looking up for Scott and Virginia! They traveled west to visit her family and friends in January of 2023.

Unfortunately, Scott suffered a setback and started to have multiple seizures. The last seizure, landed him in the Mayo hospital in Phoenix. Upon returning to MN, Scott went to Mayo in Rochester to see why there were so many seizures. They did an MRI of the brain, MRI of the spine, spinal tap, PET scan and blood work. They found that the tumor that he had removed last September has grown back and is a cause the seizures. In addition to that, they found a very small spot on his spinal cord that is not presently causing any issues now, but they need to address it with radiation to prevent him from having any future issues (this could be really bad if not treated). Brain surgery is a higher risk so the plan was to do radiation for two weeks starting Monday, February 20th on the brain and spine simultaneously.

Scott and Virginia traveled to Mayo on February 19th for two weeks of radiation. The treatments were stopped as the seizures continued and he was admitted to Mayo for observation on February 21st. The Mayo “Team” ordered more tests and decided to proceed with radiation after some adjustments on February 23rd. Scott, Virginia and Scott’s siblings will stay in Rochester for the time being to hopefully complete the radiation treatments.

Scott is a family man married to his beautiful wife Virginia. They have three wonderful kids Dani, Kayle and Brandon.

Throughout his career and life he has frequently encouraged his kids and others to “Ride to the sound of the battle” which means that when you are faced with a challenge you take it head on and run to it ... and don’t ever run from it. This will give you the best possible outcome and you will be at your best” He is still committed to following his own advice when facing this challenge in his life.

Local friends are helping prepare meals, take care of groceries etc. As you can imagine the medical bills, prescriptions, supplements, travel, lodging and alternative treatments, etc. are extensive, some of which are not covered by insurance. This is why I am establishing this GoFundMe page for Scott and the family. If you would like join the rally and financially assist any and all donations are greatly appreciated. I know they would be humbled and grateful for your generosity. You can do so below for the Scott Antony Fund.

The comeback will be greater than the setback!!

Thank you and remember to “Live for today and with a heart full of grateful”
