GoFundMe Story – Cindy
Hi, my name is Holley , and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my mom, Cindy, someone who means everything to our family.
Our world was turned upside down when my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. Hearing those words is something no family is ever prepared for. Since that moment, life has been divided into “before” and “after,” and we’ve been learning to navigate fear, hope, heartbreak, and strength all at once.
Cindy is more than a cancer diagnosis. She is a mother who has given endlessly of herself, a source of comfort, love, and stability to everyone around her. She has always been the person others lean on — the one who shows up, who listens, who puts her family first no matter what. Seeing her now in this fight is both devastating and inspiring beyond words.
As she undergoes treatment, the emotional toll has been heavy, but the financial burden has been overwhelming as well. Medical bills, treatments, medications, travel to appointments, and everyday living expenses continue to add up quickly. There are days when she doesn’t have the strength she once did, and the stress of finances is something we wish she didn’t have to carry on top of everything else.
We created this fundraiser to help ease that burden so Cindy can focus on what matters most — fighting this cancer, resting when she needs to, and spending meaningful time with the people who love her. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward medical expenses and basic needs during this incredibly difficult time.
Asking for help does not come easily for our family, but we know we can’t do this alone. If you’re able to donate, we are endlessly grateful. If you can’t, sharing this fundraiser, sending prayers, positive thoughts, or words of encouragement means more than you know.
Thank you for taking the time to read Cindy’s story and for standing with us during one of the hardest chapters of our lives. Your kindness, compassion, and support remind us that we are not alone.
With love and gratitude,
Holley O’Brien
