Scots-Appella ICHSA Competition Finals in NYC

Hello Family, Friends, and Supporters,

My name is Sheng Lor, Treasurer of McKay Music Boosters, Inc (Non-profit 501(c)(3) charity). I am helping fundraise for Scots-Appella's upcoming trip to the ICHSA Finals in New York City. Let me share with you a remarkable journey this group of students has accomplished.

This year, these 13 hard-working students not only placed 1st in the Quarterfinal at Sherwood HS, but also then placed 1st in the West Semifinal in El Segundo, CA. They are so excited to perform their 2024 set at the ICHSA Finals in New York City on April 26, 2024.

Scots-Appella is McKay High School’s contemporary a cappella group in Salem, OR. They have competed with the Varsity Vocals International Championship for High School A Cappella for three years now. Last year, the group earned their spot on the Finals stage with their Wildcard submission, and were awarded 2nd place.

The competition started with 225+ groups from 29 states and is now down to the final 9 groups in the nation. Scots-Appella is honored to represent the Northwest in the competition and we need your help to make this trip memorable for the students.

The Salem-Keizer School District has been helpful with our flights and lodging, but we still need additional funds for local transportation, food, and experiences. McKay High School is a Title I High School (100% free and reduced lunch), so the students are so thankful for your support. There are 13 students and all donations will go directly to them for their trip! Every amount helps!
