My name is Spencer Syme-Nicholson, and I am a dedicated young rugby player born in Nottinghamshire. I’ve been fortunate to represent Newark Rugby Club across various levels, from when I joined the mini section and now 1st Team regular at 18. I have also been fortunate to be selected for Notts, Lincoln and Derbyshire counties (NLD) and regional squads, including the England Midlands U18s squad and hope to continue to represent at U20s.
In the summer of 2025, I took up rugby league with Sherwood Wolf hunt to maintain my fitness during the off-season. What began as a casual pursuit quickly evolved into a passion, and I was honoured to be invited to trials for the Scotland U19s Rugby League team in Harrogate. Following these trials, I was thrilled to be selected to represent Scotland in international matches and tournaments taking place in 2026.
This once in a lifetime opportunity includes training camps across the UK, games against the USA in America and Wales and Ireland in France. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gain representative honours for myself and my club on a global stage, develop my skills, and gain invaluable experience.
Sadly, due to no funding within grass roots rugby league, I am seeking donations and sponsorship to help supplement the costs of travel and accommodation to training camps and international matches, which is all self funded. My target is £3,000, and I would be incredibly grateful for any support either you or your organisation could offer, whether through a donation, sponsorship, or promotional assistance.
I have set up a GoFundMe page to facilitate contributions, which can be accessed via the QR code below. Your support would not only help me achieve my ambition but also invest in the future of grassroots rugby and youth representation in international sport.
Thank you for considering my request. I would be proud to carry your company’s name with me as I represent and continue my rugby journey.
Warm regards, Spencer Syme-Nicholson
