I'm a college student fundraising for a biology study abroad trip!! In May, 2026, we're going to Scotland!! Between now and then, we'll have several meetings to finalize details and prepare for a trip of a lifetime.
We'll be spending 10 days in a part of the world I've dreamed of visiting, staying in I think 3 different inns as we venture and learn. Our itinerary is still being solidified, but we do know a few stops for certain. We'll land in Edinburgh and have numerous history, culture, and geology walks (including an extinct volcano). I'm looking forward to the National Museum of Scotland! The Royal Botanical Gardens, the Cairngorms, and Abernethy Pine Forest are in the following days. We'll be learning about local species reintroduction and biodiversity. I'm excited to be doing some tree planting! Next we'll visit RZSS Highland Wildlife Park and Argyll Wildlife Centre where we'll learn more about some special local animals. There will be hiking at Loch Lomond and the Trossachs to experience local fauna, and we've been promised a visit to a hedgehog rescue!
It's set to be an absolutely packed 10 days! I'm beyond excited! Traveling ignites much joy in me, and I learn tons of stuff. Experiencing new cultures and landscapes is important and fun as well.
Funds will help me pay for my portion of the trip cost (airfare, accommodation, program, and some meals). I can't wait to try cool local foods!
