SCOPIXdance Choreographer Showcase Fund
0% complete
$1,775 raised of $2.5K
21 donations
SCOPIXdance is hosting its inaugural Choreographer Showcase on June 17, 2023, at Stomping Ground L.A. in Los Angeles, California. This engaging new concert will feature 4 works by up-and-coming choreographers based in Los Angeles, Orange County and New York City: Emma Andres, João Ducci, Kelly McGill and Claire Louise Goldes.
As many of you may know, dance production is expensive, time-consuming and requires the collaboration of many people to happen successfully. We at SCOPIXdance want to establish from our very first event, the importance of fairly compensating all artists involved with our organization.
The funds raised through this campaign will supplement our ticket sales for the event (coming soon!) and will go towards paying for:
- Venue rental for tech rehearsals and performance (Stomping Ground LA)
- Lighting Designer
- Food + water for dancers during tech
- House staff
- Print materials such as:
- Marketing posters and postcards
- Programs
- Choreographer stipend for:
- Dancer compensation
- Costumes
- Music rights
- Rehearsal studio rental
As a brand new organization, we are turning to our community, friends and families to help us raise funds for this production. We are counting on the financial and artistic success of this first event to allow us to apply for grants and significant sponsorships in the future – and in order to do that, we need your help!
We appreciate each of you for taking the time to read about our campaign and all your donations. Each contribution, no matter how small, will get us closer to our funding needs for this event. Sharing this campaign with others and helping us spread the word, is also a wonderful way to help us reach our goal!
About us:
SCOPIXdance is a new dance organization founded in early 2023 by Emma Andres and João Ducci, premiering its first concert this summer! We are proud to be presenting works by West Coast and East Coast based artists and we hope to continue expanding our roster of choreographers in the years to come. This event would not be possible without the help of ArtistsPlus Productions (more about them below) as our fiscal sponsor. Their fiscal sponsorship allows us to navigate fundraising, venue rental and other business aspects of productions as a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization. For this reason, the funds of this campaign will be going through them, but will directly contribute to SCOPIXdance and our event.
