As many challenges continue to face our nation, it's imperative that we continue to find ways to support one another through these difficult times. As a society, we must grapple with the reality of racial violence, systems of oppression, and most importantly find ways to combat those systems in order to create a more just and equitable society.
The Student Community of Progressive Empowerment (SCOPE) at the University of Michigan is looking for your support in order to provide emergency financial resources to undocumented and DACA students at the University of Michigan who have been adversely impacted by the COVID 19 pandemic.
Unfortunately, undocumented students and their families do not have access to federal or state relief funds that other students and their families are eligible for and receiving. There are very few resources available to undocumented college students throughout the country and the few resources that are available are quickly exhausted. Our students and their families are experiencing financial insecurity right now and are in urgent need of assistance, which is why we are asking for your support.
We are aiming to raise $15,000 and ensure that 100% of the proceeds go directly to undocumented and DACA students at the University of Michigan. With the help of our community, our hope is that we will continue to find ways to support undocumented and DACA students at the University of Michigan with the ultimate goal of helping our fellow students obtain a college degree.
Who is SCOPE?
The Student Community of Progressive Empowerment (SCOPE) is a student-led and student-run organization at the University of Michigan that supports, connects, and empowers undocumented and DACA students at the University. Throughout the years, SCOPE has advocated for tuition equity, financial aid resources, residency reform, and immigrant rights in Washtenaw County and the state of Michigan.
