Scooby's Last Hope: Support Their Move

Donation protected
Emergency funds needed for owner to be able to save her ESA from euthanasia.

Scooby’s story begins in Memphis Tennessee as a puppy where all before his first birthday he was shot, stabbed multiple times and lived on a chain, until he was taken to a high kill shelter. Shy and terrified, Scooby was at risk to be euthanized. Rebekah saw in a rescue group online his sweet eyes pleading for mercy and drove a round trip of 32 hours, some in a blizzard to adopt him. Scooby joined her family of Buttercup (beagle) and Sassy (chihuahua) and fit right in. Rebekah soon discovered that Scooby could sense when she was about to experience a panic attack and would place himself over her body until she was calm. He soon became her official ESA, emotional support animal. Scooby overcame so much including two surgeries to remove heartworms as well as surgery to correct his formerly broken two front legs that never healed properly when he was a puppy.

This past year, Rebekah tragically and unexpectedly lost her brother as well as her beloved senior beagle. Scooby has been her biggest comfort. Last month, in spite of her instructions her petsitters husband cornered Scooby and he bit him out of fear. Due to Virginia’s strict three bites law, the county has ordered Scooby to be officially euthanized on January 6th.

Scooby is truly a GOOD dog who is misunderstood, and deserves to live out the rest of his life to the fullest. Rebekah has been unable to find sanctuary placement for Scooby, and the only way she can stop him from being euthanized on Monday is by immediately moving to another state. As many can relate to due to economically difficult times, Rebekah has no savings and an immediate move is impossible without financial help. All funds raised will go directly towards hotels, rent, utilities, and pet care until Rebekah can find employment where they are moving to. If we are able to raise the funds then Rebekah can put the move plan into motion, the county will kennel him for two weeks for safety so she can make arrangements. She is currently considering Minnesota, North Carolina or Nevada.

Rebekah would like you all to know that Scooby is an AMAZING dog, just misunderstood, and the incidents are not his fault but occurred because people did not respect his need for space and patience for trust.

We need to raise these funds immediately in order to save Scooby’s life. Thank you all in advance for your generosity. ❤️
