On April 14th the Northern Mariana Islands were hit by category 5 super typhoon sinlaku. With wind speed up to 185mph and heavy flooding that lingered for 48 hours. It destroyed so much infrastructure and so many homes. The whole island is currently still without power and running water.
I am raising money specifically for a number of families who are close to me and multiple members of the Saipan Church of Christ that have a severe damage to their homes. These families are:
The Abara Family (my uncle, aunt, and 8 year old cousin)
Madeleine Mengoy & Family
The Combs Family
Jessica & Ivana Cruz
Janine & Ester Del Rosario
Mark Lagado & Family
The Silva Family
Sister Nenita
Sister Karen
The Lucero Family
And Brother Arnel
Their lives were turned upside down when super typhoon sinlaku devastated Saipan. The storm destroyed their homes, leaving them without a safe place to stay and taking away so many of the essentials they relied on every day. It’s been incredibly difficult to see them face such loss, but I know that with the support of my community, there’s hope for a fresh start.
The funds raised here will go directly towards helping these families rebuild. We’ll use your support to replace the essentials they lost—like clothing, furniture, and household items—and to begin repairing and rebuilding their homes so they can feel safe again. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to restoring stability and comfort for them. While sending care packages would be great, the boxes would take weeks or maybe even months before they arrive. Direct funds will help them purchase what they need sooner and helps stimulate the economy.
Any gift is so appreciated and helps these families so much. Thank you so much for reading, sharing, and supporting us during this challenging time. Your kindness truly means the world to us. Please continue to pray for them and for everyone who has been affected. Please also pray for the FEMA workers and those traveling with relief efforts to help the islands rebuild.
About Me - My name is Abigail Parker, I am currently living in Tulsa Oklahoma but I was born and raised on Saipan. My parents and many family members still live on Saipan and are members of the Saipan Church of Christ. The funds will go directly to them to be distributed to those in need.
