Please Help me finish my ECE certification

I am an early childhood educator, a single mom with a lot of heart.

Recently I went back to school with the support of my employer, I was accepted into an accelerated early childhood program which had over 100 applicants, with only 24 seats. I got picked for one of those seats. I started school in September and I put in a lot of hard work, dedication and care into upgrading my skills. My marks were mostly in the 90% range, and for a 3 month program that is supposed to take a year to complete I was very proud of myself.

Yesterday, I was supposed to start my practicum with my employer where I have worked for 3 years. I was called into a meeting and was let go with no other reason than “ we don’t think you are a good fit” and a 2 week severance. 3 weeks before Christmas.

I am devastated to say the least, I never thought I would ever lose my job, I was a model employee, never missed much time other than vacation days, I was always quick to help my fellow co workers, and had a genuine love for all the children in my care. The parents of the children I cared for are shocked, and sad that I will no longer be caring for their children. They have even offered to give me references if I need them.

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love children. Being an educator is my passion, it’s what keeps me going. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child smile or give you a hug just for being you. I love what I do very much.

So with losing my employment, it comes with a huge financial burden. I have 6 weeks left of school in order to finish my level 2 ECCE certification. These 6 weeks have to be in a childcare center, and will have to be unpaid now because of the loss of my job.

I am trying to raise enough money so that I can finish school, give my children a Christmas and keep a roof over our heads until I can go on the books as a level 2 educator.

I only want to further my career, and spend my life in a field that I love and strive in.

Please help me make my dream come true!
