Science Olympiad is Going to States

Our Science Olympiad team won 2nd place at the regional competition last Saturday and now we get to go to the State Science Olympiad competition on Oahu on March 4th! The students are very excited, some have never been to Oahu. The team is a very diverse bunch of 7th and 8th grade students from the beautiful Hamakua Coast on the Big Island.
We need funds for air fare and ground transportation once we get there. The air plane tickets are $200 each (including tax) and we are raising funds for 18 tickets! We need to pay for the tickets by Feb 23rd, so we don't have a long time to fund raise.
Science Olympiad is a really engaging science competition and the students study for events ranging from anatomy to meterology to food science, and build awesome projects like rubberband powered airplanes, bottle rockets and hover crafts. It encourages them to love science! It means a lot to us to be able to compete at the state level and get to go an adventure while doing so.
