6th Grade Science Camp gets kids disconnected from devices and connected to the great outdoors. Botany, star-gazing, hiking, and way cool science experiments inspire future scientists, engineers, teachers, entrepreneurs, and environmentalists.

Held at Rancho El Chorro in the hills of San Luis Obispo, California where hands-on-learning has been inspiring kids for 40 years, there are 250 acres of beautiful terrain to explore by day. At night, students have well-supervised cabins with adult chaperones. All staff and chaperones must be fingerprinted and undergo security clearances by the school district.
The whole class goes, or we stay home. We fundraise as a group so that no one is left out! We have kids from all walks of life, many who otherwise would not be able to experience the outdoors and hands-on science like this.
We are madly fundraising, but we need your help!
The cost to send the entire group is $15,000 so we're hoping you can help with some of this (UPDATED GoFundMe goal on Feb. 28 = $15,000), and all funds must be raised by the students and parents. Any surplus we fundraise goes right in to next year's Camp to help ease thier fundraising burden. The Atascadero Fine Arts Academy is a public school in the Atascadero Unified School District, and the District tax ID is 77-0059035.
