Our family has recently received some very sad news which has our family looking for help and prayers.
My sister-in-law Judy, 50 years old, is a stay at home mom of 3 (2 daughters 13 and 15 and a son 18). Judy has had back problems for many years. About six months ago she started experiencing extreme pain in her back. She went to several doctors who were unable to diagnose the problem or provide any relieve from her pain. The pain became so excruciating and so severe that Judy was admitted to Henry Ford Hospital on June 3rd.
Judy was diagnosed not only with a broken back in two places, but also with stage 4 bone cancer. Extensive tests at Henry Ford have shown the cancer has spread to other areas of her body. The doctors diagnosed a cancerous mass under her rib cage and has also spread to some vital organs. Judy has gone through radiation treatments to help relieve the pain in her back and pressure around her spinal cord. Currently the doctors are ordering more tests, managing Judy’s pain and trying to decide upon their next plan of action.
Judy’s husband, Chris, has used his vacation days to be at her side but only has one week remaining. Chris is a trucker and on the road Monday to Friday. He will be requesting for a family leave but his employer doesn’t pay employees while on leave. During the leave the medical insurance will also need to be paid by them. With many tests or treatments not covered by medical insurance and also having to pay for the insurance to remain covered the savings they have won’t last long. Knowing the bills are beginning to pile up presents another burden as the family struggles to support Judy. So to help put Judy and her husband’s mind at ease we turn to our family and friends for donations to help with this difficult situation. We continue to pray for them through this difficult time.
