Let's Raise $2019 for 2019 Science Fair Mentoring

In this season of giving, help inspire the next generation about science, technology, engineering and math!

Your dollars will make possible a new chapter of Sci-Inspire  in Pittsburgh, PA, where this coming Spring 2019, Sci-Inspire will create science fair mentorships between science college student volunteers and K-12 students. Charles Liang, a Columbia University graduate who helped start Sci-Inspire in Harlem, is partnering with Pitt Science Outreach to bring Sci-Inspire’s mentor-mentee matching system to the (appropriately named) City of Bridges.

Would you be able to chip in this holiday season?

Sci-Inspire  is a 501(c)3 nonprofit social network for science outreach that connects K-12 educators with university science college students to boost science attitudes and aptitudes in American youth.

Your contribution helps us buy insurance for volunteers and fund our science fair networking system. Any support goes a long way and is greatly appreciated. All donations are tax-deductible.

Let’s make STEM outreach both fun and easy!

Backstory:

Sci-Inspire’s mentor-mentee matching system has so far inspired K-12 students in New York and DC. Sci-Inspire was founded in September 2015 and since then has launched two chapters: one at Columbia University connecting Fu School of Engineering and Applied Science students with educators at Harlem K-12 schools, and another in Washington, DC, connecting George Washington University students with K-12 teachers in both the District and nearby Maryland.

Sci-Inspire was founded by Matt Schaff , a PhD candidate at the University of Pennsylvania and a 2013 Neuroscience and Economics graduate from the University of Pittsburgh.  Inspired by his passion for science outreach during his time at Pitt Science Outreach , Matt created Sci-Inspire to continue STEM outreach, approaching it with a modern twist.  Sci-Inspire allows K-12 teachers in the community to log on to the website https://www.sci-inspire.org/ and request volunteers for specific dates.  Then, certified college science student volunteers can simply log on to the same website and view/accept requests.  Voila, science outreach, now both fun and easy!
