Hey everyone,

I’ve never done something like this before, and asking for help like this doesn’t come easy to me. But right now, I’m out of options.

While driving home from Minnesota with my 4-year-old son, our car broke down on the side of the road in the middle of a long, hot trip. We needed a tow and a last-minute hotel, and now we’re looking at serious repair costs from a mechanic visit that wasn’t optional. This is all coming right after a vacation we had saved up for, and just weeks after spending over $500 on repairs for the same car that failed us today.

To make things harder, our finances were already strained, due largely to events outside our control. We had already been dipping into savings to stay afloat, and now those are nearly gone

Tonight, my card was declined while trying to buy dinner for my son. That’s where we’re at. It’s hard to admit, but I’m overwhelmed and exhausted. We’re just trying to get through this in one piece.

I don’t know yet what the full car repair cost will be, but just the immediate expenses (tow + hotel) are over $300, and the repairs could be significant. Anything you can give would help keep us afloat and give us a little breathing room to get home and recover.
