Schyler has been my son’s friend for over 10 years. His story breaks my heart, and I need to do something. No 26 year old should be planning his own funeral, but he has to. No parent should have to bury their child, but it has been a reality for his parents. Here is his story

Schyler Aren Coder was born January 13,1996 in Iowa City, IA. He was born with cystic fibrosis, cirrhosis, and asthma. He was sick off and on his whole first year from all of those. He has had numerous bowel obstructions and a pancreatic psuedocyst. He also developed cystic fibrosis related diabetes when he was 5 years old. He has vericies around his liver, from portal hypertension. There are many other conditions that he has at this time. Now his liver has taken a turn for the worse and is waging a war on his kidney because he became infected with a spontaneous bacterial peritonitis. He will need a transplant of the liver and kidneys to live. At this time we are trying to keep him as viable as possible but he’s very sick so he cannot be tested for a transplant at this time. We are planning the funeral in case our miracle does not come and we will need help with funeral expenses.

We didn’t get our miracle, but we did get a few more months. Schyler went home with our Lord & Savior this morning, 3/29/23 at 5:04 am. We’re still trying to raise money for his funeral, and memorial. When service information is available, I will update
