In the recent storms in Illinois we had basement flooding (6 in or so). When it happened the last of our big monthly bills had just gone out AND my current work shut down from storm damage. Add to that Millie is starting her new job this coming week (last week of August) week and there is a pay gap. I am also starting a new job this coming week. It is just hitting at a bad time for money. Oh and NOTHING is covered by insurance. No surprise to most, sewer back up isn't covered.
With help we were able to cover the sewer rodding that drained the basement Tony's Drain and Sewer in Aurora are awesome. As the days have passed it has become clear that we need a new water heater burner assembly (The water heater is 5 years old and I am not paying for a whole new one if I can help it.) Also the house fan in the furnace (isn't working). I have friends who may be able to help with both and cut labor but parts may be needed. I haven't had the stomach to try the washer and dryer yet. Not to mention, potentially a dumpster to clean out the basement. And then a new month of bills with a an altered pay schedule.
The bottom line is that any help those able to provide can offer is appreciated. I have reopened this gofundme we set up a couple years ago while Millie was out of work.
Many have already reached out with help and it has been so appreciated.
Thank you!
