Schurr family coronavirus recovery
Donation protected
On March 26th my friend Madeline's amazing dad- James Schurr, lovingly known as Jim, lost his fight against the Corona Virus. He was 59. His family, friends, and community adored him.
The Schurrs are like a second family to me. I’m sure many people can say that because of how kind, open, and generous they are. Jim made me, and everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him, feel welcome and feel like family in his presence. He was an incredible, vibrant, hilarious person with a resilient Brooklyn exterior and a warm, loving heart. I am lucky to have known him.
The circumstances surrounding his passing were sudden, and a shock. They are experiencing this loss during this time when no one can come together, or see each other. It is devastating, and they are shattered.
I took convincing to get Madeline, my friend- to agree to do this. However, Madeline and her family are such wonderful, generous people - and I say that from experience, they deserve help. No one should have to experience this immense and painful loss. All we can do is care for and love one another, and that’s why I’d like to do this for them.
She made the point that she doesn’t want anyone to contribute who is struggling financially. So please, if you can, share. Thank you.
