Schumaker Family Monthly and Travel Expenses

My brother Steven, his wife Maria and their children - Christian, Sal, Stellan, and Maggie - welcomed Anthony and Victoria (Tori) into their lives on September 11, 2021.

 

After their birth, Tori's Trisomy 18 diagnosis was confirmed along with a large VSD (hole in her heart).

 

Tori was initially treated a our local hospital until the decision was made to seek more specialized medical care with a Trisomy focus.  In February Tori and Maria were air flighted to Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, FL.

 

Since arriving in Orlando Tori has overcome many hurdles and faces some new ones. With her recent liver cancer diagnosis and the help of the oncologist there is a new plan in motion to transfer Tori to Cincinnati, OH where there is an oncologist who specializes in the liver and has treated this type of cancer in young children, including ones with trisomy.

 

We are graciously seeking to raise money for their monthly and travel expenses during this heartbreaking & challenging time. It is not known when or if Maria  will be able to return to work. Being a one income household has it challenges normal challenges but adding on the price of gas for travel to OH, lodging, food and other monthly expenses complicates their situation even more.   We want to lessen their burden by helping out with the expenses so they can concentrate on their beautiful baby girl.

There is still a long journey ahead of them and by the Grace of God, Tori will keep fighting and recover to enjoy life with family who love her so much.
