School Supplies Drive for Costa Rican Schools
Donation protected
Thank you everyone for donating to the school supplies drive! As you can see, all the requested supplies have been purchased and packed in luggage that was donated. Any additional money will help establish a scholarship fund for TBLS students attending the next trip.
The TBLS crew is visiting Escuela La Lucha - an elementary school with 80-100 students in the Alajuela region. The town is constructing a new classroom addition and TBLS students will help level the ground, mix and lay concrete, and paint. They will also visit classrooms and interact with the students through English lessons, games, and sports.
Colegio Los Angeles is a high school also in the Alajuela Province. This is a 6th to 12th grade school. We’re not yet sure of the details of the service project but the students will plug into what the school community prioritizes.
Thank you again for supporting this project!
Dear friends and family,
We are a student committee at The Brooklyn Latin School (TBLS) collecting supplies for schools in need in Costa Rica.
Students from TBLS are traveling to Costa Rica over Spring Break. We'll be visiting both a high school and an elementary school and we understand that they could really use help with school supplies. Below is a list of supplies that they sent us.
We ask that you please contribute, in one of two ways:
1. Please contribute any amount you can spare (even a dollar or two would be very helpful). We'll use your contributions to purchase the supplies and deliver them to the schools.
OR
2. If you have any of the supplies at home and would prefer to donate them, please bring them to TBLS, ROOM 153 no later than Monday, April 3.
Thank you for your help and please share this fundraiser with friends and family.
