School Supplies for Impoverished Kids in the DR

In a remote area of the Southwest of the Dominican Republic (DR), many children are facing a daily struggle to access the basic school supplies they need to succeed in their education. They come from families living in poverty who cannot afford to provide them with the materials they need to succeed. Many of these children are forced to carry their notebooks in makeshift bags and share pencils to make them last.

But we believe that every child deserves the right to a quality education, regardless of their background. This is why we are launching this campaign to provide 105 children in 7 schools with new bookbags filled with all the necessary school supplies for the upcoming school year.

In February, I will be visiting the country and personally meeting the children, teachers, and parents to learn more about their needs, and in the summer I will return to distribute the bookbags and supplies. We have carefully selected the schools and identified the children who are most in need, but with your support, we can help even more children.

This campaign is close to my heart as a Dominican American. I have seen the need and poverty of my people, especially the children. I believe that with a small act of kindness and generosity, we can make a real difference in the lives of these children and empower them to succeed in their education.
