School! Splints! Survival! Now with more teeth!

My name’s Cyrus! I’m a Mexican trans man with more complications than those and I’m going back to school for the first time in years but I need new splints; my current ones don’t fit well and only support one joint per finger, leaving the rest to knock each other out of place in a terrible noodle hands conga line sort of thing. 

I also need to s u r v i v e , generally, under late capitalism.
I write, often about genre and/or monsters (which are a lot of what I’m going to study!), with as much up on Patreon as I can manage. I’m also on Twitter and beginning to publish games on itch.

Poorly-fitted splints (or just wearing rings) can leave me with this kind of skin damage after less than a day, so the poor fit and multiple joints left unbraced are a problem in more ways than one.

I’d like to update with plans about how the new ones are designed—the level of support I need means there’s some fairly heavy lifting to do! I have the resources/education/consultation to do that, and am in contact with a designer. I just also have very, very bad anxiety.

(I can’t get my insurance to cover a psychiatrist who believes in adults with mental illnesses more medically complex than unipolar depression, or who’s taking patients at all; “appointments out of pocket” are one of those survival expenses I hope to be looking at in the new year.)
