There are still villages where kids and youth don’t have the necessary facilities to improve their quality of education and learn new skills incorporating technology, unlike urban kids. This is our chance to create first-hand opportunities for this generation, bridging that urban-rural divide to make a difference by providing equal opportunities, which have been a privilege for many of us.
Therefore I am working with the Foundation of Goodness, which is already doing a tremendous job of supporting the locals in the villages despite the tsunami, covid, and the current crisis.
FOG already has fully functioning 14 Village Heartbeat Empowerment centers in action, islandwide, delivering a range of empowerment courses & initiatives.
In this project, we are building the next one! All the funds collected will be transferred directly to the charity account!
Our goal with $25,000 is to build an empowerment center where:
- Education will be FREE of cost;
- +500 Beneficiaries per year;
- Students from 10 different villages will be impacted;
- 9 different courses (English, IT and Coding, Link-Language: Tamil, Mathematics, Science, Primary Education, Women's Empowerment Programmes, Children's Good Values Initiative, Goodness Agriculture Initiative, Planetary Health, STEM Education) will be taught. Also, sports, life skills, and good values.
This means every $50 is support for a year per student.
As a content creator, Sri Lanka has done so much for me, and in return, this is the least I can do to support the country and give back to the community.
