Help Send My Kids Back to School

Dear Friends,

My name is Douglas Kalo, a father from Kenya struggling to keep my children in school after losing my job in April last year. Since November 2023, my three kids have been out of school because of unpaid fees. Their school has made it clear that they won’t be allowed back unless we clear the arrears of 100,000 Ksh each, and pay this term’s fees of 73,000 Ksh each.

To add to this challenge, my daughter, Irene Wambui Ndeverah, needs 100,000 Ksh to register for her IGCSE exam by this Friday, January 12th, 2025. She is in year 11 at a School Called Etham School in Eldoret Kenya. Missing this deadline would mean she loses the opportunity to complete her education this year.

I have tried everything within my power to raise funds, including attempting to sell my 0.716-acre piece of land and starting a water purification business to sustain my family. While I’ve invested in the machines and some statutory licenses, the project has stalled due to lack of funds to complete the last phase of Kenya revenue authority license, ( Ksh 370,000).
