Mandela’s Legacy: Educate SA

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Emily.

In 2020, thanks to the generosity of many people on social media, we were able to raise enough money to buy a car for Dennis Rasekgela. Now, I am reaching out again to support Dennis in her incredible work. Despite facing sexual abuse and numerous challenges, Dennis has emerged as a beacon of hope in her community. She runs a crèche and a food bank in Thembisa, Johannesburg, providing lunch to around 250 children daily and offering a safe space for those facing their own struggles.

Dennis uses the car to collect food from churches and retailers across Johannesburg, ensuring the children have meals. She also collects and recycles tins to generate income. However, one crucial area where Dennis needs support is helping the children in her community access formal education.

For Mandela Day this year, I am launching a fundraiser to cover annual school fees for some of these children. Nelson Mandela believed that education has the power to change the world. In honor of his legacy, our fundraiser will start on Nelson Mandela Day and end in October.

Join us in making a difference and empowering the future of these children through education..
