School books for kids in EPE (Lagos, Nigeria)
Donation protected
Dear sisters and brothers, we are launching this fundraiser to buy school books for kids in rural villages along the Lagos Lagoon. About 145 villages are tucked away, in close proximity to big city life, but only reachable by boat. They have been there for centuries and mostly depend on fishing and agriculture. In the last years they have been severely affected by water hyacinth, a seaweed that blocks the waterways. They also suffer from lack of funding and neglect. One consequence is that their children do not have textbooks in school. Schools have just resumed so this is the perfect time to provide some essential help. Let's put our hands together and make sure that these kids have access to education and enjoy learning. Getting all the required school books for a village costs between 1500 and 2500$, depending on the number of children enrolled. Any support received will go 100% to buying books and their delivery to these communities.
