Odyssey of the mind is a creative, problem solving program, in which teams create solutions using elements of theatrical performance, construction and design, as well as, spontaneous critical thinking. Through months of practice and teamwork School 18's OOTM team won First Place in the Region 4 Tournament and then AGAIN went on to take First Place in the State Tournament in Binghamton, NY. Because of this will the team will now travel to Michigan State University to compete in the WORLDS competition on May 22nd-May 25th. Their goal is to experience this international event to its fullest and WIN!
The hard work this team has put into these victories has been extensive, the excitement from their wins has been more than these youngsters could have imagined. The trip to Michigan will be a chance of a lifetime for these students, however, the trip will also be long and expensive :)
Troy City School District's motto is:

Our little Odyssey of the Mind team has truly embraced this motto. They have incorporated the exact motto into every performance. They use it to motivate themselves during critical thinking events. As a result, they believe they can win again in Michigan...END OF STORY.
Since the excitement from their first win at Regionals, the team and School 18 have felt the overwhelming support and enthusiasm from the Troy community. We are respectfully asking for donations. No donation is too small. Thank you so much.
