Scholtes Family Lost Everything in the Fires
Donation protected
While many of us here in Fairfield and Vacaville were evacuated from our homes this week, my sister, Deidre (Dede) and her family have no home to return to. At 12:01am Wednesday, August 19, Dede and her husband, Joe, had moments to grab the dogs, cats, and her children, Sierra and Ryan and flee their home as the fire raged all around them. She came to me with nothing and we waited all day so she could return home. Then we got the news - the house is GONE. Ashes and a chimney are all that stands. After waiting 20 years to renovate, they finally had the home of their dreams and now it is all gone. Ryan's car is a burned hulk. They need everything.
Hundreds of people have experienced the love and generosity of the Scholtes family. Dede's house was a home in every sense of that word. For over 20 years friends and family have all gathered at Amadeus Acres - the name of their farm - to celebrate family birthdays, weddings, holidays, barn dances, graduations, dinners, school and church functions - you name it - Dede and Joe hosted. They live in service to others - opening their home -feeding the homeless and generously giving to those less fortunate.
The need is immediate. They need to rebuild their home but right now they need the basics. COVID had already impacted their finances and now they need - EVERYTHING. While insurance will help the need is immediate. They need a house, clothes, a vehicle, furniture, food, computers, the list goes on.
If you have experienced the love and generosity of this beautiful family - or if you can feel the profound sense of loss they are experiencing please consider a small donation. Together we can help them rebuild and regain their lives. Thank you so much.
My name is Tracey Wright Lee - older sister of Deidre Wright Scholtes. I will make sure my sister and her family receive this donation in full (less the fees go fund me charges)
