Scholarships honoring Art Pearl's 100th birthday!

This is Rachel, Art's daughter. April 23rd would have been my dad's 100th birthday. He spent his life removing barriers for others so they could have access to education and resources to create the future of their dreams, a future they deserve! He was passionate about Democratic Education. He understood that in a Democracy, schools are meant to create well-informed and well-prepared citizens. Citizens who can critically solve problems and create a more livable world for all... the greater good. We started the Pearl Democratic Remote High School amid the pandemic to put my dad's work into action. This school has created a beautiful, youth-led community grounded in the principles of the book my dad wrote with Tony Knight (who we also lost recently)- The Democratic Classroom.

In honor of my dad's life and legacy, I want to raise $100 for 100 days for his 100th birthday. These funds will support scholarship funds for youth to attend the Pearl. We want this school to be accessible, and we want to remove the barrier of cost so that more young people can be celebrated and seen while they learn to be actively engaged citizens of the world.
