We are raising funds to award scholarships to students going on to college from Overfelt High School in East San Jose. This effort is in honor of Dr. Nick Gutierrez, who was a student at Overfelt in the late 70s and dedicated his life to advocating for higher education. Dr. Gutierrez was a doctor of psychiatry, an associate professor at UCLA, and assistant director at Didi Hirsch Mental Health Clinic in Culver City, CA. He always made time to speak to others about education, life, the future, and traveling. As his older brother, I can tell you if you knew him, you loved him, and if he met you, he would love you too.

The scholarship funds raised will go directly to Overfelt High School students to help with tuition, books, and supplies as they begin their college journeys. All donations will be distributed by Overfelt High School principal Vito Chiala and are tax-deductible. Your support will help us continue Dr. Gutierrez’s legacy and make a real difference in the lives of these students.
