Help Us Empower and Celebrate Our Latino Club Seniors

Hello, my name is Mrs. Maldonado, and I am a proud teacher and advisor for the Latino Club at El Rancho High School in the city of Pico Rivera. This year, our school launched the Latino Club with the mission of creating a safe, welcoming space for newcomer students from across Latin America — including El Salvador, Mexico, Honduras, Peru, Colombia, and more.

Our club offers more than just community. It’s a place where students can support each other as they adapt to a new country, culture, and language. Many of our members have overcome incredible challenges: learning English, adjusting to a new education system, and even navigating life in foster care after making the journey to the United States alone in search of a better future.

Despite all of this, these students are thriving. They’re learning about each other’s cultures, engaging in community service, and encouraging one another to pursue higher education. We are proud to share that several of our senior girls — who played a key role in establishing and leading this club — have been accepted to colleges like Cal Poly Pomona.

To honor their resilience, leadership, and hard work, we are raising funds to offer small scholarships to at least two of our graduating seniors. Your support will help us recognize their achievements and ease the financial burden as they take the next big step in their academic journey.

No donation is too small — every dollar brings us closer to showing these students that their efforts matter and that their community stands behind them.
