Scholarship in Memory of Eric Fladeland!

We are simply devastated by the passing of our colleague and friend Eric Fladeland.
I know I speak for the entire Okta Customer Success team when I say the last week has been the toughest we’ve ever faced.
Eric made a tremendous impact on the people in his life. At Okta, he was a terrific teammate and a passionate customer advocate. In his community, he was a servant to those in need. And with his family, Eric was the rock. He adored his wife Cathy and his daughter Emma, and he did his best to support them in every way he could.
Eric spent the last months of his life helping his daughter pick a college, and he was so proud of Emma’s choice to attend the University of Tennessee next fall. He resigned himself to donning that Volunteer Orange whenever possible, and he loudly declared that they were now his team.
Eric knew Emma's education was one of the most important investments he would ever make. He worked hard to support that investment, and it is in that spirit that this team has established this fundraiser to help ease Emma’s tuition costs.
We are a team here at Okta, and we’re committed to stepping up for Eric and his family.
This has been an unimaginably difficult time for them. It’s been tough for his community and his colleagues. If there is any way you can help support this endeavor, please do so. If you feel so inclined, please share this page with others. And if you’d prefer to leave a note or perhaps plant a tree in Eric’s memory, please visit his memorial site here .
It's telling how many memories of Eric over the last week have been about his unimpeachable character and vivacious personality. He is dearly missed, and our lives are forever better for having known him. We’re hopeful that, in this small way, we can help carry on the memory and spirit of our friend, Eric Fladeland.
With gratitude,
Scott and Team
