Scholarship in honor of Maj. Jeff Hoernemann

From Jeff's family:
It is with profound sadness and grief that we announce the passing of Jeff, who was tragically taken from us far too soon on November 29, 2023, when his CV-22 Osprey aircraft crashed off the coast of Yakushima Island, Japan.

Jeff loved the Air Force. He loved to fly the Osprey. It was truly his passion. More than anything, he loved his wife, his family, and his friends unconditionally, spoiled his pets like crazy, and easily found the good in everyone. Always quick with a clever "dad joke"; smiling and ready with a hug: humble and passionate beyond measure, every encounter with Jeff left you feeling better. To the world he was someone, but to us, he was our world. We miss him and love him with all of our hearts.

In honor of Jeff, we would like to start an endowed memorial scholarship fund for those who are interested in the fields of aviation, engineering, and/or education, all of which were important to Jeff. We feel this is the best way for us to keep Jeff's name alive, and help others in perpetuity, so that some good can come from such a disastrous event. Thank you for your support.
