For over 20 years, the K.W. Lee Center for Leadership, based in Koreatown, has trained LA youth to understand community organizing and become future leaders. As part of our 2025 program, we are creating a scholarship for two students to use in their higher education journey. To make this possible, we are asking for your help, whether through direct donation or sharing this fundraiser.
Immigrant students face more obstacles than their peers, including out-of-date DACA accessibility, limited funding/scholarship opportunities, and looming fear of detainment or deportation, interfering with their studies and emotional well-being. Increasing immigrant students’ access to higher education has several long-term benefits, including enhancing their earning potential and contributing to their overall economic and intellectual contributions to society. While just a small start, our scholarship will help two students cover various expenses (textbooks, lab fees, etc.) and ease some of the costs of university. 100% of donations will go to the two scholarships. The selected students will be local to the Koreatown/LA area and will attend or plan to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational education institution.
