On February 13, 2024, we were devastated with the sudden passing of our beloved Mikyle Covington Sr. Mikyle was an amazing son, brother, father, coach, teacher, and friend with the BIGGEST heart whose life work was to help service others. Mikyle dedicated most of his time working with our Detroit youth in the sports field where he showed them that through hard work and dedication, you can achieve anything! The impact and lifelong memories that he made not only to those he met, but the entire community will be forever cherished and missed! Mikyle leaves behind a beautiful 6 year old son, Mikyle Covington Jr. aka “Jojo”. If you were ever blessed to be around Mikyle and Jojo, you would have experienced true father and son love. Jojo was Mikyle’s world and there was no mountain that he wouldn’t move for him. We want to honor that love, passion, and dedication that Mikyle had for Jojo by creating a scholarship fund for him. Mikyle gave so much to others, so it is only right that we continue his legacy by pouring that same love and dedication to the one person that he loved more than life, his son JoJo.
