Today's children are raised in a false sense of security. On one hand, in the physical world they are protected more than any other children before have ever been. On the other, they are exposed and increasingly vulnerable to the online world, where they are often left without any guidelines.
Teen suicides because of the 'imperfect' body image, online grooming, terrorist recruitment through games, cyberbullying - there are so many areas where children AND parents need to be helped.
Parents and teachers frequently demonstrate two extreme behaviours: they either are lost and prefer to ignore what kids do online altogether, or simply prohibit children to use devices. None of these approaches work in the modern world.
Consciously Digital, a UK collective of coaches lead by bestselling author and TEDx speaker Dr Anastasia Dedyukhina, has created the first ICF-certified coach training course that prepares coaches to help companies, educators, parents and children use technology consciously.
We would like to give an opportunity to study this course for free or with a substantial discount to a person, who already works on preventing children's cyberbullying, abuse, terrorist recruitment via social networks, mental health issues arising from gaming addictions or any other area, where children get hurt because of misuse or unethical design of technology.
We are raising money for the price of the course starting in April 2021. The price for it is 1270 GBP + 2.9% platform transaction fee. While the course price is kept low compared to other ICF-certified coaching courses, many people especially from developing countries cannot afford to pay the full amount.
The person who will receive the scholarship raised through GoFundMe can be from anywhere in the world and will be chosen among the applicants of the program based on their work experience, financial needs and ambitions to carry on doing their work.
Whatever will be raised through GoFundMe will be doubled by Consciously Digital. Should we raise then amount exceeding the full course fee, we will use the remaining for the second scholarship for the following intake.
