Hi my name is Amy Booth! Myself, Julie Reed and Amy Leech have worked together to create this Go Fund Me page! On February 13, 2024 we lost Luis Ernesto (Ernie) Verde in a tragic automobile accident. Ernie was one of the sweetest and most kind hearted young men I’ve ever known! Ernesto attended Whitney ISD from Kindergarten all throughout High School! After graduating he attended Blinn College and most recently was finishing out his Masters at Texas A&M in College Station. I have been contacted by so many on how we can give back to The Verde Family so on behalf of Mr. & Mrs. Luis Verde along with their son Ignacio Verde and daughter Leslie, we have decided a Go Fund Me page would be a beautiful way to fund a scholarship for two aspiring college students of Whitney High School. The scholarship will be named the “Luis Ernesto Verde Scholarship.” All Whitney High seniors are welcome to apply. The scholarship will be open to all applicants, despite their major/minor. This scholarship will be awarded at the end of the Spring 2024 semester.
