Thank you for checking out our page. We are Yessie Mastrantoni and Desiree Bordas, residents of Sea Cliff, Ny. We started this fundraiser for our beloved sister, Monica Schmucker, her husband Dustin and 2 beautiful children, Tessa and Silas, ages 9 and 4 respectively. The Schmucker family lived in Ft. Myers Beach for 6 years before it was devastated by Hurricane Ian. The Schmuckers not only lost almost everything they own, but also lost their community and entire way of life. According to reports, 90% of structures on Ft. Myers Beach are destroyed. The devastation is such that it will take years to rebuild. Dwellings and vehicles are scarce, not that there is money to obtain any. Their network of friends, who have always been unbelievably supportive of each other, are all in the same situation. Some are missing and sadly some lives lost. Insurance money will take time to acquire and almost certainly will not cover all the loss and cost of living. If you decide to help, please know that 100% of proceeds will go directly to the Schmucker family and the people they care about who have suffered the same tragic fate.
