Unique challenges arise when your baby is born prematurely. They need extra care when they go home. It causes parents such mental stress when their FMLA runs out and they need to return to work, and yet their sweet baby still needs so much care. Balancing the demands of nurturing a fragile new life, changing diapers, attending to G-Tube feedings every two hours is exhausting. New parents have to negotiate sleep deprivation, physical recovery, and the complex emotions of caring for their premature baby, while taking care of themselves and their home.
I know of such a new family, Amanda and Nathan Schloesser and their new son Alrich. Alrich who was born 6 weeks early on February 26th. Alrich still needs to be feed by a gastrostomy tube (also called a G-tube) every 2 hours. We are trying to raise $10,000 to help pay for some of the expenses that go into the type of care needed. One is a qualified person to help support this dear family. Specialized formula is also needed for optimal growth and development. Medical expenses for ongoing treatment and tests required.
Thank you in advance for your prayers and donations for the Schloesser family.
