Schieber Family House Fire

Donation protected
On April 14, 2023, my Aunt and Uncle Larry and JoAnn Schieber's house caught fire while my Aunt JoAnn was working from home. She made it out safely, unfortunately, a family dog passed away due to smoke inhalation. The house is damaged beyond repair and they were not able to salvage much of anything from the fire thus far. The home insurance process is started but there is no telling how long that will take.

I'd love to tell you a little bit about the people I'm asking for you all to assist. For those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting them, they are truly incredible people who would not think twice before helping someone in need. At the same time, they are not the type of people who like to ask for help even in a circumstance like this.

My Uncle Larry has worked as a mechanic for over 30 years. On days he should have been home resting you would find him in a garage underneath a relative's/friend's hood fixing a vehicle. Just the day before the fire he quit his job due to the work environment he was in. He was at a job interview the morning of the 14th when he got the call that the house was on fire and had to leave.

My Aunt JoAnn is the sweetest person you could ever meet and knows no stranger. She has been working from home for the past few years and will now have to manage a remote job while jumping from place to place until they can find somewhere again.

For the past three years, they have been raising their grandson who they have had custody of since he was 3 months old. They have been caring for him all on their own with no child support or help from the state. Everything of his was so badly damaged and destroyed yesterday that they find themselves in need of a bed, clothes, diapers, wipes, and shoes for him.

They worked hard their entire lives to get to be homeowners one day and their dream came true 6 years ago when they purchased this home. Nothing can prepare you for a situation like this financially or mentally.

Please consider donating whatever you can. Even the smallest amount will help.

The next days/weeks will be extremely stressful for them and I'm hoping to take just even a little bit of that away from them. I want to thank you all beforehand for anything you can assist with.
