Schaffer-Brock Family House Fire Relief

Donation protected
In the early morning hours of January 31, 2020, my father and mother’s home in South Charlotte, NC - the house we’ve called home for nearly 20 years - was destroyed in a fire and they are now forced to succumb to the devastation and catastrophic loss that lay in the aftermath of it all.

Their home is ultimately a total loss and, unfortunately, my father cancelled renters insurance years ago, when he had to make the difficult (albeit, necessary) decision to go on disability, for the sake of not only himself, but above all else, his family. He has always put others first and those blessed to know and respect him have always found him to be selfless and caring in every way. Which makes this unfair circumstance even more devastating. Though, grateful for zero casualties, the painful reality of hardship, not having homeowners insurance, facing homelessness, starting anew, and everything else in between is beyond fathomable, as I’m sure you all can only imagine.

I’m still in utter shock and disbelief, myself. My mind is in shambles and my heart aches an excruciating ache for my parents. I feel as though a part of me was consumed in the fire, too, and I feel helpless in what limited ways I can to help offer and provide aid, in their crucial time of need.

Which is, ultimately, why I now find myself at the mercy of Go Fund Me and the hope and power of mankind, for any help available, as I join my family in the struggle to cope with this awful chapter in life, and all the chapters that are sure to follow...

I would be forever grateful unto you all if you would please join me in helping to raise awareness and support for my family’s disaster, in whatever ways possible.

Please hold my family near and dear to your hearts and if you can think of any other ways to help, please do not hesitate in doing so or let me know! These truly are some of the most monumental and vital moments of our lives, when our worlds seem to come to a complete and sudden halt - unforeseen and unimaginable - and all the strength, support, and positivity of a village is needed to help set our worlds back into motion, more than ever thought imaginable before.

Thank you all for being here for my family, as well as myself, especially through the darkest of days. “This, too, shall pass”, though, it will be much harder without your help... please.
