Part II November 16th
Part III November 23rd

7pm (EST) /  4pm (PST)

Traveler follows an artist's journey navigating the internal, external path we as artists have all experienced in these past months of unpredictability.

This is an extraordinary time of hardship for the arts. We hope to portray a hopeful and uplifting journey of self-discovery through uncertainty and isolation. By supporting SCDC, you are contributing to that hope. You are making it possible for artists to keep working & building on new platforms. Your contribution will allow us to bring the digital premiere of Traveler  to life, as we work our way back to seeing you again in person.

Featuring dancers Ben Rudisin, Jackie Oakley, Calley Skalnik, Hannah Fischer, and Skylar Campbell, choreographed by the young talented Ariel Rose, of Miami City Ballet. Two songs from singer-songwriter Josiah Johnson's brand new debut solo album Every Feeling on a Loop, will be featured, along with a mesmerizing original adaption, of Autumn Music II composed by Max Richter, exclusively recorded for this creation and performed by renowned Canadian violinist Aaron Schwebel

Filmed in three rich and symbolic locations across Toronto, by acclaimed Canadian photographer/videographer Karolina Kuras, and edited by KWCreative, a dynamic film making duo of ballet dancers (Emily Kikta and Peter Walker) from the New York City Ballet, who without a doubt, will bring this entire series to life in the editing room

"
My wish is that Traveler will live on beyond this pandemic and be something for all of us to look on, recognizing our time away from the traditional creation of dance, not as time lost, but as experience gained." -Skylar Campbell

"Working on this project for SCDC with young artists from all over North America has been a way of staying afloat emotionally, creatively, and spiritually during this difficult time for the arts. It's symbolic for me to see how we've come together and organized ourselves and dedicated the time and effort to create something over numerous zoom calls, creative meetings, etc. I hope that Traveler speaks to artists around the world as well as inspires those who go to art to be inspired and uplifted in their own lives." - Ariel Rose
