RCA Fundraising for one of own!

Miss Emma & Miss Becca here,
We asking for your help!
Betsy is part of the RCA family, we are fundraising raising to support the family financially whist they are going through the worst time in their lives.
Within the last few months their world has been turned upside down. The family noticed Betsy’s eye beginning to turn in and took her to the doctors, from then on Betsy has had multiply MRI’s, and hospital appointments. The results from this was a tumour on her brain, the prognosis was heartbreaking and not expected as she was well in herself, cartwheeling up the corridors of the hospital. Betsy’s family were told that the surgeons believed it was benign and that they were going to watch to see its growth, and as Betsy wasn’t showing symptoms, for now, she could carry on life as normal, with school and cheer.
Katie and Johnny (Betsy’s mum and dad) then began to notice a decline in Betsy’s eye, and pushed to be seen sooner by the medical team. The doctors and surgeons were shocked at the growth and treatment for Betsy needed to be started immediately.
Betsy is in the process of her first round of radiotherapy in London. She will have 13 days of treatment, with the weekends off. She has to wear a mask for the treatment which I have added below, the nurse has decorated it RCA style for her. She smashed the first day listening to Taylor swift throughout! The radiotherapy is not a cure, it’s aimed to shrink the tumour until it grows back then they will repeat the process.
There are different chemotherapy trials which so far have not worked, but as her mum says “They have to work on someone” So there is a possibility she may have this treatment.
It’s been a whirlwind for the family, and there isn’t anything we can say or do to help Betsy. BUT, we can take away the financial worries. Johnny is self employed and will not be taking in a wage for sometime.
Now this is where the RCA family can step in! Please donate if you can, no matter how small, it will all help. There are a lot of us so we really can make a difference.
Our first aim is to get some money to them as soon as possible to pay their bills etc. As they will struggle, like any of us would if we had no money coming in.
Moving forward we are looking to do more fund raising to continue to help them. We are thinking of sponsored stunts (Besty loved stunts & tumble). Quiz night, charity football match etc. We will keep you all posted and if anyone wants to join us in setting up some events we would love that too!
Please hold the Badminton family on your prayers!
