(we did change our goal as scar needs to go back in, his new meds are making him weird)
Hello my name is Carissa Tank and I own Scar a 3 year old Australian shepherd. scar is my service dog and has been undergoing a mysterious cough for around 4-5 weeks now. He first started showing symptoms on October 23rd we let it go for a bit. He progressively got worse so we took him to the walk in vet, they told us it was kennel cough and sent us with meds. ($174 for this visit) a week later he was showing no signs of getting better, so he went to urgent care. They ran a culture, took X-rays, and blood work. His X-rays showed pneumonia, so they tried two other meds that ended up working for a few days then he got worse again. ($1021 for this visit) fast forward after he used up those meds no improvement. Called and they gave him two more meds to try ($140 for these meds) no improvement. Suddenly on 11/20 he was at home and started breathing heavily and struggling so now we are at the ER vet awaiting treatment.
Scar means the world to me and has been my service dog for 3.5 years, I need him and don’t know what I would do without him. We hate asking for help but as I am in school and can’t work due to my current surgery putting me on restrictions. Anything helps and we would be extremely grateful.
we will update with results of the ER vet visit- $990 so far for this one
