Hi, I'm Steve, im the Chairman of Hempstead Valley Football Club based in Medway Kent

A few months ago, we found out that our vice Chairman, and longest serving coach at the club had been diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. Paul and his wife Marta have been searching for hope to beat this cruel condition and have now been approved for life saving surgery!!!

The surgery however is only available abroad, and they have been fundraising to urgently secure the funds required to ensure Paul has the opportunity to beat cancer before it takes his life, and we all lose one of the kindest most amazing guys you'll ever likely meet

For this fund raiser, I am looking to bring more attention to the appeal, as well as try to raise some additional funds by doing something that some may not consider that brave or extreme.. but for me... well it's something I'd have never considered doing

During our recent presentation day for the club, one of the ways we were raising some additional funds was selling temporary tattoos of the club badge, which I started a trend having one on the back of my leg..

I have never had a real tattoo, ive never really wanted my body mutilated and drawn on , and the idea of a needle machine gun being fired in my leg as I'm permanently scarred for life, doesn't sound at all appealing! (perhaps a little dramatic.. but either way, it's not something I'm looking forward to)

The idea is simple. As Paul has dedicated over 15 years as a volunteer for the club, coaching hundreds of young players, supporting so many teams and coaches.. I am going to have a tattoo of the club badge scarred on to my calf for the rest of my life, to raise funds to help Paul live the rest of his life!

I will surely be the first person to ever have a Hempstead Valley FC Badge as a tattoo

I should add that at the time of posting this, I've still not told my soon to be wife of this plan

But I hope that together we can raise loads and loads of money, with every penny going to Pauls fund for life saving surgery.

We have found a tattoo artist willing to fire needles in me free of charge (I will post their details soon)

I would like to stress, that this is something I am really not looking forward too, however now Ive said it, it's happening.. I just hope you amazing people are able to sponsor me on this mission to help raise funds to support Paul, his family, and our football club, in keeping hold of a truly amazing guy

The total cost for the treatment is over £55'000!!.. I've put a much smaller target here,  as an additional sponsored fund raising campaign, to help give a boost whilst trying to do something a little different to help the cause
