Please sponsor Mo Pearce and Michael Moon to run the 'brutiful' Beachy Head Half Marathon (1600 ft of elevation!!) to raise funds to support the recovery of the incredible Scarlett Rose.
On May 31st, during her gymnastics class, Scarlett collapsed and suffered a severe brain bleed caused by an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) in her brain.
After two life-saving surgeries at King’s College Hospital and a crucial operation on August 8th 2024 to remove the AVM, Scarlett has shown incredible strength. She is talking, eating, and slowly regaining movement on her left side. Scarlett spent nine weeks in intensive rehabilitation at King’s College Hospital, making remarkable progress.
To best support Scarlett's recovery, Scarlett's family have had to make the difficult decision to seek private care at a specialized clinic hours away, which comes with significant costs.
In January 2025, Scarlett faced an unexpected setback when she needed emergency surgery due to an infection in her skull. Part of her skull was removed, and she underwent skin grafts on her head.
She has also started rehabilitation at Neurokinex, a place she truly loves. Although progress feels slow at times—like one step forward, two steps back—Scarlett continues to show determination and improvement. In mid-July, Scarlett had a plate fitted in her skull.
Sadly, Scarlett's family have recently discovered the arteriovenous malformation is still there and will require more invasive treatment.
Your generous donations are to help Scarlett access the ongoing rehabilitation she needs to regain her independence and quality of life.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you kindly for your generosity and any support in helping with Scarlett's recovery.
