Scarlette surgery to remove cancer
Donation protected
*update*
Hi everyone! First of all thank you so much for those that have donated and shared, it means the world to me and Scar ❤️
She had her surgery on April 10 and we are awaiting biopsy results to confirm if all the cancer was removed. Big prayers up it was
She has had some major post op complications due to the area on her hind leg where the tumor wad removed as its very hard to keep her still to allow the skin to heal. Weve had multiple post op vet visits where sedation was needed each time becuase she is now very skiddish of the vet and wont allow him to change her bandaging. She needed her bandage stitched into her skin in order for it to protect the wound which is partially open. Wound care requires a visit to the vet every 2-3 days $$$. Meds to manage her pain and antibiotics to manage a small infection that came up. As the skin thats stitched together heals the doctor will be able to continue to close the wound by closing the edges closer and closer. This is just the way it goes with the location of the wound, there is a lot of tension in that area.
please kindly continue to share the link, im doing my best to clean as much as i can in the community to receive extra funds but they vet bills keep coming.
thank you so much everyone
bless,
Ani
Hi
my beautiful girl had an anaphylactic reaction march 26th and had to be rushed to the vet. We had no idea what had caused it as she hadnt been stung by a bee or had any new foods introduced. She had thrown up once that morning and was just not acting her normal happy self. In order for the dr to examine her he had to sedate her and while she was sedated i asked him to check a lump out. He aspirated it a bit and sent it off to the lab.
Today, March 27 i received a call from the vet that its a mass cell cancerous tumor and needs to be completely excisioned. However before we can do the surgery additional lumps and bumps need to be aspirated and sent to the lab because if they do come back cancerous the vet needs to know the margin of area to excise (cut).
This is obviously devastating as Scarlette is only 3.5 and has so much life left to live. Shes normally the happiest, cuddliest, goofy puppy ive always known her to be but lately shes just not having the best time.
the dr explained this is why she had an anaphylactic reaction because these types of tumors release a large amount of histamines (explains her symptoms of allergies being quite awful).
As her momma, i spent everything i had on the initial testing and treatment of the acute anaphylaxis reaction. I am on long term disability for chronic illnesses myself which inhibits me from working. I do my best to pick up cash jobs like cleaning and dog walking/sitting as much as i can. But in order for scarlettes success we need to have these tests and surgery happen as soon as possible and i just dont have the funds. The vet will not do a payment plan sadly. All i care about is my girl gets the best chance and continues to live her best life with all the love she deserves ❤️
please if you have the means, any thing counts! Prayers and sharing is just as important.
im setting the goal as 3000 because of what ive already spent, leaving me nothing left, the extra testing costs, surgery cost and post op medications and management. This is likely an underestimate but im hoping not.
much love
Scars momma ❤️
