Scarlet Short Film
Donation protected
'Scarlet' is an innovative silent short film about a young couple's toxic and difficult relationship, mixed with memories of shared moments with a new "companion". The plot alternates between present and flashbacks, eventually showing the extent of their dysfunction.
This story is a visceral exploration of a poisonous relationship, where love and violence are intimately linked. It portrays the human condition of gravitating toward harm despite warning signs, like a moth to a flame.
Julia Gomez, the director, and I, Bill Ledoux Hirwa, the producer, spent the summer constructing a story that is both thought-provoking and visually appealing. After several long days of writing and refining the script, Julia and I assembled a team of talented filmmakers from the University of Miami to assist us in this endeavor. We've both directed and managed individual projects in the past, as well as worked on other people's sets. As a result, we understand what it takes to complete a job such as this.
We are currently winding up the casting process and aim to film in the last two weeks of August. And that's where you come in. We are looking for $1300 to be used during the production phase. The funding will be spent on: costumes, set design, locations, transportation, and finally, meals for cast and crew.
Please support our journey as emerging filmmakers. A donation would be tremendously appreciated, but simply sharing or reposting our campaign can have a significant impact. Thank you!
