Last year Lois was attacked by a stranger in Central London. From this attack she now has life changing injuries, with scarring on her face and both hands. From this trauma, Lois has created a platform called Scar Family. Scar Family is about creating social awareness for people who have scars, burns and life changing injuries, helping people on their road to recovery, and raising money to support scar and burn charities.
On Thursday 13th September 2018 in Central London, Lois has organised the first Scar Family event. This event will raise social awareness for people who have life changing injuries and raise funds to support The Scar Free Foundation.
Why donate money for the Scar Free Foundation?
The Scar Free Foundation is, the UK’s only medical research charity dedicated to scientific, clinical and psychological research focused on achieving scar free healing within a generation.
Work undertaken by the Foundation includes:
- A series of research projects to improve treatments, from the point of injury to rehabilitation for survivors of burn injuries and other serious trauma.
- The world’s largest research project to understand the causes and outcomes of cleft lip and palate.
- The Scar Free Foundation Centre for Conflict Wound Research – a pioneering investment in new treatments for those surviving military, conflict or terrorist attacks.
The Scar Free Foundation relies on voluntary donations. It is the only organisation in the world supporting work so specifically targeting the causes and better treatments for wounds and scars. The Foundation has a very small but efficient administrative team and money raised by Scar Family will go directly towards supporting the vital work and research that the Foundation leads.
Your donations would be greatly appreciated!
